RASHIDO GOES BIONIC

Feb. 24, 2011

The surgery went really well, and Rashid has 7 new stainless steel friends in his shoulder with braided kevlar.

Just a quick note to let everyone know why LOBOTOMIX is going to seem like it has dropped off for a minute. I had shoulder surgery yesterday and will be on severe restriction as to the use of my right arm for quite a while, so although there may not be any LOBOTOMIX events for a minute [and I didn’t have an event in Feb. so I could prepare], there’s still lots of stuff going on behind the scenes, and several of our artists are going to be busy performing and getting things done. Keep an eye out for the updates, and check out the upcoming events – The Green Seed will be hitting Austin, TX for SxSW, I’ll be going along to support and network, and Shaheed will be coming along to hop on for a cameo and represent the crew. I’ve agreed to dj for the Cahaba River Society’s annual fundraiser on march 31st [which should be interesting since I won’t be able to carry any gear myself and I am still unsure as to how well my arm will be working] and The Green Seed will be playing in Montevallo with The Grenadines on April 1st. Me and Andy will be working on updating the website and trying to get everything going, and I guess I’ll have a lot of time to work on scheduling and stuff between visits to the Physical Therapist’s office while I try to get my arm back up to speed. Keep an eye out, we’re taking a break, but we’ll be back in April.

Oh – and just so you know – the surgery went really well, and I have 7 new stainless steel friends in my shoulder with braided kevlar [military grade string yo] attached to them tying my labrum together and keeping my shoulder in place. They took out a little bone, put in some extra stuff and sent me home. My hand was huge yesterday, but looks kinda normal again and I’m gonna try to get the LOBOTOMIX wing printed on my sling just to pimp that shizz up. See you soon, hip hop fans!
