4 years ago, Alabama and the world music community as a whole, were blessed with the beginning of an online resource like no other – BamaLoveSoul. Founded by dj RAHDU and facilitated and overseen by a dedicated team of artists, musicians and music aficionados, the site strives to provide their audience with access to new and innovative music as well as gems that their dedicated diggers turn up from dusty crates and back rooms of record stores, and the archives of obscure record collections. The site also strives to break any misconceptions that Alabamians, as a whole, are bogged down in a particular style or genre of music or musical taste.

We have had the pleasure of knowing Rahdu and the BamaLoveSoul crew from the beginning and have fed off of their strengths, learned from their trials and enjoyed the camaraderie of collaboration on some events over the years – most notably the annual Dilla Day Celebration. LOBOTOMIX is proud to watch BamaLoveSoul continue to succeed and feed the world’s hunger for exceptional music – we wish them all the success as they continue to decrease the world’s hard drive space and fill our ears and minds.

Be sure to get out to PLUM Bar for the Anniversary Party and enjoy some cake and libations while DJ Jamad gets on the turntables and reminds you why you love music. Doors open at 5:30PM and the night will start off with a viewing of the documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest which will begin promptly at 6PM.
