Truth Universal’s ideals of Hip Hop preservation and non-conformity, coupled with his social dialogue, make him a major player in today’s independent Hip Hop arena. With his political messages, traditional Hip Hop sensibilities, and lyrics being practically the polar opposite of his mainstream Southern counterparts, Truth Universal belongs to the lesser-known Hip Hop underground in New Orleans.
